Analog vs Digital Phones

Basic work of phone:

  • Communication between the two users takes  place by the waves.
  • Sound Wave of one end user is converted to electronic waves or set of bits.
  • Converted bit are transferred to other end user.
  • Communication of voice takes in two forms 
    • Analog Signal System
    • Digital Signal System
  • According to the system, phones are invented in order to work for the method.

Analog Phones:

  • These Phones uses an Analog Signal System.
  • In Analog Phones, sound waves are converted to the electronic signals.
  • These phones are the first type in phone technology invented by Graham Bell in 1876.
  • Known as Plain old Telephone Service(POTS).

Digital Phones:

  • These Phones uses a Digital Signal System.
  • In Digital Phones, sound waves are converted to the binary numbers 0's and 1's.
  • These Phones are inverted.
