Monitors

  • Monitors are the devices used to display the information of CPU.
  • Upto this time there are four types of Monitors.
    • CRT
    • LCD
    • LED
    • OLED

CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) Monitors :

  • Cathode Ray Tube these are the old fashioned monitors which are used years back.
  • Functionality of the CRT
    • Electronic Guns(Red, Green and Blue) emits electronic beam.
    • Focusing Coil changes the focus of the ray.
    • Horizontal and Vertical Focus deflects the light ray.
    • Mask used to make beam project as dots on florescent screen.
  • CRT screens are Large is size.
  • CRT screens consumes more power.
  • CRT screens picture clarity is not very clear.

LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) Monitors:

  • Uses florescent tube for emitting light and LCD for displaying.
  • Functionality of the LCD:
    • Florescent Tube emits the light beam.
    • This beam process through the polarize(Filter the same axis waves).
    • Then LCD twists the wave in 90 degrees.
    • Again light passed through polarize.
    • Beam heats RGB coated layer  to emit colors.
  • LCD screens are Thinner in size.
  • Cannot Produce Perfect Black color.

LED (Light Emitting Diode) Monitors:

  • Light Emitting Diode monitors also use LCD, change is used LEDs to emit light.
  • Functionality same as LCDs:
    • Instead of Florescent we use the LEDs.
  • LED makes more perfect colors and perfect black color.
  • LEDs consumes less power.
  • Screen can be clearly visible in any angle.

OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) Monitors:

  • These uses OLEDs.
  • Functionality :
    • OLEDs are coated with the colored layer(ie.;RGBW)
    • USES four colors of OLEDs to display.
    • They directly hit on the glass screen.
  • OLED Monitors are light weight.
  • OLED Monitors produce natural colors.
  • Screen can be twisted in direction.
