Hard Disk Working

  • Hard Disk is a device used to store the data.
  • Hard Disk working is similar to Gramophone.
  • It contains the set disks.

Parts of Hard Disk:

  • Actuator:
    • Moves Read - Write Arm.
    • Coils are used.
    • Moves the Read-Write arm more quickly.
  • Spindle:
    • Rotates the platter.
  • Platter:
    • Platter is a main device where the information is stored.
    • Platter is made of magnetic coating with carbon layer above it.
    • Stores the information in magnetic form.
  • Flexible Connector:
    • Carries the data between the Read-Write head to platter.
  • Small Spindle:
    • Makes Read/Write arm to move across the Platter.

  • Read-Write Arm:
    • Moves Read and Write head back and forth across.
  • Read-Write Head:
    • Read-Write Head used to read and write data.
    • Read-Write Head contains the magnetic coil.
    • Read-Write Head is placed 3 nano centimeters above the disk.
  • Circuit Board:
    • Controls the data.
    • Gives the information to the starter to where to store it.

Working of Hard Disk:

Write:
    • Mother Board checks the data where to store.
    • Read-Write head magnetizes the platter.
    • 1 is charged as north pole.
    • 0 is charged as south pole.
Read:
    • Read-Write head checks the magnetized part.
    •  And sends the data to mother board.
