Chrome Hot Keys

  • Chrome is the most used browser in all browser.
  • As it has lots of features and flexibility no other browser has.
  • We can directly search from URL bar without adding www. or https.
  • To add some more flexibility chrome has lots of hot keys.    

Tab and Windows Shortcut Keys :

SHORTCUT ACTION
Ctrl+N Open a new window
Ctrl+Shift+N Open New Incognito
Ctrl+T Open a new tab, and jump to it
Ctrl+Shift+T Reopen the last closed tab, and jump to it
Ctrl + Tab (Ctrl + PgDn) Jump to the next open tab
Ctrl + Shift + Tab (Ctrl + PgUp) Jump to the previous open tab
Ctrl + 1 to Ctrl + 8 Jump to a specific tab
Jump to the last tab Ctrl + 9
Ctrl + W (Ctrl + F4) Close the current tab
Ctrl + Shift + W Close all open tabs and the browser
Ctrl + Shift + Q Quit Google Chrome
Alt + Space + N Minimize the current window
Alt + Space + X Maximize the current window
Alt + F4 Close the current window
Alt + Home Open your home page in the current tab
Alt + Left arrow Open the previous page from your history in the current tab
Alt + Right arrow Open the next page from your history in the current tab    

Address Bar Shortcut Keys:

SHORTCUT ACTION
Type in search bar + Enter Search with your default search engine
Type a search engine name + Tab Search using a different search engine
Type Site Name + Ctrl + Enter Adds www. and .com to site
Type a search term + Alt + Enter Open a new tab and perform a Google search
Ctrl + l or Alt + D or F6 Jump to address bar
Ctrl + K or Ctrl + E Search from anywhere                       

Webpage Shortcut Keys:

SHORTCUT ACTION
Ctrl + P Open options to print the current page
Ctrl + S Open options to save the current page
Ctrl + R(F5) Reload the current
(Shift + F5) Reload the current page, ignoring cached content
Ctrl + O + Select a file Open a file from your computer in Chrome
Ctrl + U Display non-editable HTML source code for the current page
Ctrl + D Save your current webpage as a bookmark
Ctrl + Shift + D Save all open tabs as bookmarks in a new folder
Ctrl + "+" Zoom In
Ctrl + "-" Zoom Out
Ctrl + "0" Return everything on the page to default size
Ctrl + Left arrow Move your cursor to the front of the previous word in a text field
Ctrl + Right arrow Move your cursor to the back of the next word in a text field
Ctrl + Backspace Delete the previous word in a text field
Tab Browse clickable items moving forward
Shift + Tab Browse clickable items moving backward
PgUp(Shift + Space) Scroll up a webpage and screen at a time
PgDn(Space) Scroll down a webpage.
Alt + N Move focus to a notification
Alt + Shift + A Allow within a notification
Alt + Shift + D Deny within a notification
Alt + Home Open the Home page in the current tab
Esc Stops Page Loading
Home Go to top of the page
End Go to bottom of the page
F11 Full Screen On or Off
