24 Frames

Frame:

  • A frame is nothing but a one of the image in motion picture.
  • Every video is made up of the combination of the frames.
  • But you never notice because of frames playing speed, this is called Frame Per Second.

Frames Per Second:

  • Frames needed to be projected per second.
  • Our eye is capable of seeing the up to 12 images per second.
  • If any video is played below the 12 frames, it looks like a group of images playing together.
  • To make a images as a realistic motion we need to use 24 Frames Per Second.
  • 24 Frames is the standard for film industry.

24 Frames:

  • Usually a 24 frames means 24 images together
  • Thomas Edison suggested that to make the clear motion video, we  need 46 frames per second.
  • In order to reduce the cost introduced the 24 frames per second, with three shutters instead  of the one shutter.

Why 24 Frames used in Film Industry:

  • 24 Frames is used because the effects, fight scenes are not real.
  • So in order to make them realistic we use 24 frames per second.
  • If it is less than 24 frames, it can easily understands that it is not real.
  • If it is more than 24 frames, the videos are clear with out any motion effect, which can also make unrealistic.

Types of frames, most commonly used:

  • 24 FPS - In cinematography
  • 30 FPS - In video games.
  • 60 FPS - For clear vision, used for slow motion playing.
